It is enacted by the General Assembly as follows
SECTION 1. Chapter 27-20.5 of the General Laws entitled "Participation of Medical Service Providers" is hereby amended by adding thereto the following section:
{ADD 27-20.5-2. Refusal of medical service provider prohibited. -- ADD} {ADD It shall be unlawful for any nonprofit medical service corporation, hospital service corporation, health maintenance organization, or any other insurer offering and/or insuring health services on a prepaid basis as defined in section 42-62-4(c), or any other person to refuse to allow providers of medical services as defined in section 27-20-1 to render services to its subscribers, and for said provider to be compensated by any nonprofit or for profits medical service corporation, hospital service corporation, health maintenance organization, insurers, or any other person, whether or not the medical service provider is a participant in the nonprofit or for profit medical service corporation, hospital service corporation, or health maintenance organization. ADD}
SECTION 2. This act shall take effect upon passage.

This act would prevent health care insurers refusing to allow licensed health care providers from participating in the health care insurers plans.
