Rep. Lancia selected for prestigious Henry Toll Fellowship Program
STATE HOUSE – Rep. Robert B. Lancia (R-Dist. 16, Cranston) is one of 48 state leaders from across the nation selected for the prestigious Henry Toll Fellowship Program sponsored by the Council of State Governments (CSG).
The annual weeklong seminar, to be held Aug. 28-Sept. 2 in Lexington, Ky., is named for CSG founder Henry Wolcott Toll. The fellowship is one of the nation’s premier leadership development programs for state government officials. Each year, Toll Fellows brings 48 of the nation’s top officials from all three branches of state government to Lexington for an intensive six-day, five-night “intellectual boot camp.” The program’s agenda includes a lineup of dynamic speakers and sessions designed to stimulate personal assessment and growth, while providing priceless networking and relationship-building opportunities.
“I am honored to be selected to represent Rhode Island in the Toll fellowship,” said Representative Lancia. “It look forward to networking and sharing ideas with fellow legislators and state leaders. When I return to Rhode Island, I hope to be able to share the knowledge I acquire to help the state with the issues and concerns we are now facing.”
Representative Lancia was selected from many applicants by a committee of state elected and appointed officials as one of the most promising leaders of state government. Past Toll Fellowship graduates include governors, U.S. Senators and members of Congress as well as leaders in state government.
The Council of State Governments is a national nonpartisan, nonprofit public service organization. The Council serves 50 states, six U.S. territories and commonwealths. In addition to the Toll Fellows Program, CSG provides legislative conferences and executive workshops, research information and multistate problem-solving opportunities for state governments.
