Representative Robert B. Lancia Becomes Robert J. Thompson Eastern Leadership Academy Fellow
STATE HOUSE -- Representative Robert B. Lancia (R-District 16 Cranston) has been accepted as a Robert J. Thompson Eastern Leadership Academy fellow.
According to ELA, “Representative Lancia’s accomplishments and commitment to public service makes him a perfect candidate for the program and we at the Council of State Governments’ Eastern Regional Conference (CSG/ERC) are excited to have him as a member of the class of 2016.”
Representative Lancia will be participating in a unique four day program from August 28th to September 1st, 2016, which is intended to sharpen his leadership skills and expand his potential, both professionally and personally. Activities will range from group exercises to skills building. He will also have the opportunity to meet and network with talented and dedicated state officials from around the region.
Much of the program will take place on the historic campus of the University of Pennsylvania at the Inn at Penn. Esteemed faculty from the University of Pennsylvania and Annenberg Public Policy Center will conduct interactive discussions on leadership styles, civil discourse, social media and the current political climate amongst other topics. A few activities will take place off campus at unique and historic places throughout the city
“I am honored and thrilled to travel to Philadelphia later this summer to participate in this wonderful event,” said Rep. Lancia. “It is truly a privilege to become a Robert J. Thompson Eastern Leadership Academy fellow. When in Pennsylvania, I hope to connect with other leaders from around the country to bring fresh new ideas back to Rhode Island, which may be helpful in furthering the progress of our state.”
