MEDIA ADVISORY: House and Senate to honor URI Men’s Basketball team tomorrow
STATE HOUSE – The Rhode Island House of Representatives and the Rhode Island Senate will be honoring the University of Rhode Island’s men’s basketball team tomorrow for winning the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship for the first time in 18 years and for advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
On Thursday, March 30 at 4 p.m. in the House chamber of the State House, the team will be honored by House Speaker Nicholas A. Mattiello (D-Dist. 15, Cranston) and the rest of the House of Representatives. Immediately following, the team will be led to the Senate chamber to be honored by Senate President Dominick J. Ruggerio (D-Dist. 4, North Providence, Providence) and the members of the Rhode Island Senate.
The team members will be accompanied by Coach Dan Hurley and URI President Dr. David Dooley.
