MEDIA ADVISORY: Study commission on legalizing marijuana to hold meeting on Tuesday
STATE HOUSE – The Special Legislative Commission to Study the Effects of Legalizing Marijuana will be meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, November 7 at 3 p.m. in Room 313 of the State House.
The following speakers will be presenting to the commission:
· Norman Birenbaum, Principal Policy and Economic Analyst, RI DBR
· Dr. James McDonald, Chief Administrative Officer, RIDOH
· Ellen R. Balasco, Esq., Chief of Licensing, Boards & Commissions, RIDOH
The Special Legislative Commission meets to conduct a comprehensive review and make recommendations regarding marijuana and the effects of its use on the residents of Colorado and Washington to the extent available, and to study the fiscal impact to those states; and thereafter the potential impact on Rhode Island.
There will be no public testimony at the meeting.
