2/12/2018 House Judiciary schedules votes tomorrow
STATE HOUSE – The House Judiciary Committee has scheduled votes on several bills tomorrow, and hearings on others.

 The committee is scheduled to meet tomorrow, Tuesday, Feb. 13, at the rise of the House session (around 4:30 p.m.) in Room 205 on the second floor of the State House. Among the bills scheduled for consideration are:
  • 2018-H 7072 — This bill sponsored by Rep. Joseph J. Solomon Jr. (D-Dist. 22, Warwick) would prohibit development of land contiguous to State House unless approved by General Assembly.
  • 2018-H 7302 — This bill sponsored by Rep. Arthur Corvese (D-Dist. 55, North Providence) prohibits the use of display fireworks or aerial consumer fireworks without a permit between the hours of midnight and 7 a.m. and makes a violation of this permit requirement a civil violation punishable by a fine of $75 and court costs.
Among the bills scheduled for hearings are:
  • 2018-H 7305 — Sponsored by Rep. Kenneth A. Marshall (D-Dist. 68, Bristol, Warren), this bill adds alcohol and alcohol-related overdoses and possession or transportation of alcohol by an underage person to the Good Samaritan Overdose Prevention Act.
  • 2018-H 7224 — This bill sponsored by Rep. Robert A. Nardolillo III would increase the penalties for a first offense of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death to a minimum five years in jail, a minimum of $10,000 and a minimum license revocation of five years.
