3/12/2019 Building a More Vibrant Rhode Island: Senate Economic Development Policy Roundtable Scheduled for Wednesday
STATE HOUSE, Providence – The Rhode Island Senate will host a “policy roundtable” to unveil and discuss a package of bills related to economic development on Wednesday.
The forum will take place Wednesday, March 13, from 3-4 p.m. in the Senate Lounge at the State House.
Themed around “Building a More Vibrant Rhode Island,” the package of bills propose action in a number of areas related to development. The legislation will be introduced during the Senate session following the roundtable discussion.
Roundtable participants include Senate leaders as well as:
  • John Marcantonio, Executive Director of the Rhode Island Builders Association;
  • Andrew Cortes, Executive Director and Founder of Building Futures and Director of Apprenticeship Rhode Island;
  • Laurie White, President, Greater Providence Chamber of Commerce;
  • John Gregory, President and CEO of the Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce;
  • Cortney Nicolato, President and CEO of the United Way of Rhode Island; and
  • Kathleen S. Connell, State Director for AARP Rhode Island.
The Senate worked with dozens of individuals and organizations to develop the legislation, including those participating in the roundtable and others who will be in the audience.
