Senate leaders to issue 'Rhode to Work' report, unveil workforce development action plan
STATE HOUSE, Providence – The Rhode Island Senate on Tuesday will release a legislative action plan to meet the needs of today’s unemployed at a news conference on Tuesday. The report and legislation seek to repair a system which is leaving many workers without the skills needed to succeed in a modern economy, and to provide job seekers a clear and accessible “road to work.”
Despite the high unemployment rate, many employers report an inability to find the skilled workers they need. Addressing this immediate jobs crisis is the Senate’s top priority.
The news conference will take place in the Senate Lounge in the State House at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2014.
