Representative Spencer E. Dickinson

Spencer E. Dickinson (D) has represented District 35, South Kingstown, since being elected in November 2010. He had previously served as a Representative from 1973 to 1980.

Representative Dickinson serves as the co-vice chairman of the House Oversight Committee and is also a member of the House Municipal Government Committee.

Representative Dickinson co-sponsored legislation to strengthen the state’s “Good Time” law, which excludes certain offenses from eligibility for earned time for good behavior.

The Wakefield homebuilder, who works for MB Construction, received his A.B. degree from Harvard University in 1966. He served two tours with the United States Army from 1963-1964 and 1968-1969.

Representative Dickinson was born on November 7, 1943. He is married to Avery Halsey and they have four children, Spencer, Betsey, Philip and Sarah.
