§ 15-5-24.5 Court ordered visitation
rights to certain persons convicted of first degree murder Prohibited.
No court shall make an order providing visitation rights to a parent who has
been convicted of murder in the first degree of the other parent of the child
who is the subject of the order, unless that court first conducts a hearing in
order to determine whether the child is of an appropriate age, maturity,
intelligence and voluntarily consents to the visitation. No person shall cause,
facilitate, or assist a child to visit a parent who has been convicted of
murder in the first degree of the other parent of the child without the consent
of the child's custodian or legal guardian except as authorized by a court
order.
